Micro-Tales #1 Sweet Lips

Sweet Lips
-By Rithika Anand

As I lay in bed tonight,
I imagine you, miles away.
With that cute sleepy smile of yours,
The messy hair, that could never be tamed.

I imagine you, sleeping like a baby,
Under the comfort of the sheets, that we
Handpicked. Together.
I imagine the room to be cold, but
Not too cold. Just the way you like it.

I imagine you must be tired,
From working all day,
And frustrated by the Devil, that your boss is.

I imagine, you must have had,
Your Friday-special pizza,
With the crumbs untouched,
Lying in kitchen. Open.Again.

I imagine that you are dreaming,
Vivid and in Colour,
 Crazy and Creative,
Interesting and Intuitive,
Just the way you describe in the mornings.

I imagine our dog, chipping away the sofa,
As one of his night endeavours,
Just the way I left him.

As I lay in bed tonight,
             Sleepless and crying...
I imagine you, miles away
            Sleeping like a baby,
With her hands all over you,
her perfect chin on your chest,
Listening to the heartbeat,
that used to be my lullaby...

I imagine you, so in love with her,
       Starting a life together.....
I imagine you, slowly forgetting me,
With every passing day,our memories to dust.

I lay in bed tonight,
Sleepless and in love.
And you lay in bed,
Sleeping and in love.
